Forming a thin layer on the substrate, appearing granular to the naked eye, a loupe reveals the surface to be covered with blunt spines the tips of which have multiple branches, white to yellowish, margin fringed, typically extending over a large area

Microscopic Features

Spores narrowly ellipsoidal to cylindrical, smooth (4.5-6) x (2-2.5) µm2. Basidia 4 spored, narrowly club shaped. Hyphal system monomitic. Cystidia narrowly cylindrical sometimes encrusted.

Notes

Macroscopically rather similar to several other species including Resinicium bicolor
