Fruiting Body

Resupinate, thin, easily detached, smooth to somewhat lumpy, white to cream, margin sometimes fibrillose

Smell

Indistinct according to the literature. The specimen shown had a strong unpleasant smell reminiscent of Lepiota cristata, which was noted by several people.

Mostly recorded from autumn to spring

Distribution

Rarely recorded

Habitat

On rotten wood from deciduous trees and on old Ganoderma fruiting bodies

Microscopic Features

Spores subcylindrical to suballantoid smooth (5-9) x (2-3.5) µm2. Basidia narrowly cylindrical to urniform, mostly four spored some with one or two spores. Hyphal system monomitic, clamps present. Gloeocystidia smooth, cylindrical, flexuose.
