Forming a thin layer on the substrate, tightly attached to the substrate, surface strongly wrinkled forming radial patterns, colour very variable, pale to bright orange, orange red, pinkish brown or pale lilac, margin fringed, forming irregular mats up to 20 cm or more across

Gelatinous, soft when fresh, hard when dry

On rotten wood from deciduous trees especially beech and wild cherry (Prunus avium)

Microscopic Features

Spores sausage shaped, smooth (4-5) x 2 µm2. Basidia slender, club shaped, four spored. Cystidia slender, club shaped. Hyphal system monomitic, clamps present.
