Rarely reported, but probably not uncommon. The species is easily overlooked, and impossible to identify without a microscope.

On bark of living and dead deciduous trees, and on litter in deciduous woods

Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal (9-12) x (5-6) µm2. Gill edge cystidia club or spindle shaped and densely covered with warts, and spines. Cap hyphae similarly densely covered in warts and spines. Sparse club and spindle shaped cystida on the cap surface, densely covered with warts and spines. Stem covered in short hairs, typically 10 µm long. Some irregular cystidia on the stem base, densely covered in warts and spines.

Edibility

Unknown, but too small to be worthwhile

Notes

This species cannot be recognised without a microscope.
