Convex, expanding with age, lined, grey brown, margin whitish, to about 2 cm across

Gills

Adnate with a decurrent tooth, whitish

Equal, slender, greyish, sometimes with white hairs at the base

Thin, pale grey

Of iodoform/disinfectant, more noticeable when drying

Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, filled with numerous small drops (8-10) x (5-6.5) µm2. Basidia clavate 2 or 4 spored. Gill edge cystidia ventricose (sac shaped), with spines. Uppermost cap hyphae warty/spiny.

Notes

This fungus could be confused with several species including M. abramsii.
