Convex, grey brown to brown, finely velvety then smooth, cuticle overhanging at margin, about 6 to 15 cm across

Pores

Whitish, becoming brown with age

Stem

Club shaped, whitish, covered with brownish scales, sometimes with green stains near the base, to about 17 cm long

Flesh

Firm, whitish, sometimes tinged green in the stem base, slowly bruising pinkish, then grey, and finally mottled blackish
