Initially cup shaped, becoming flattened with age, attached to the substrate by a short stem, inner fertile surface smooth, yellow to orange, outer surface covered in white hairs, to about 5mm across

On dead wood from conifers, most often recorded on pine but also on spruce (Picea), fir (Abies), larch and cedar

Microscopic Features

Ascospores spindle shaped, smooth, hyaline (5-10) x 2 µm2. Paraphyses cylindrical, septate, sometimes branched at the base. Asci eight spored. Hairs septate, cylindrical, warty.
