Fruiting Body

Bracket shaped, laterally attached to the substrate, sometimes several brackets fused together, pale brown to ochraceous brown, margin often exuding copious quantities of red fluid, underside whitish, 3 to 5 pores per mm, to about 60 cm wide

On living deciduous trees, favouring oak, but also on beech, usually found at the base of the tree
