Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal to almond shaped, smooth (8.5-11) x (5-6) µm2. Basidia club shaped, four spored. Gill edge cystidia spindle shaped to flask shaped, with apical crystals.

Notes

Identified using the keys in Funga Nordica, and information on the Inocybe.org web site. I interpret I. fuscidula as distinguished by smaller spores, a cap that lacks reddish colours and gills that remain white for a long while. This id has not been independently confirmed. Specimens will be sent to the Kew herbarium.
