Convex, then flattened, smooth, sometimes sticky, pale yellow brown, reddish brown with age, to about 4 cm across

Gills

Adnate, crowded, greyish, mottled, with a pale edge, then dark brown with a pale edge

Equal, hollow, yellow brown, apex pale, sometimes with blackish cortinal remnants

Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth (12-15) x (7-8) µm2. Basidia club shaped, 4 spored. Gill edge cystidia cylindrical to slightly flask shaped. Gill face cystidia ventricose (swollen in the middle). Stem apex cystidia cylindrical.
