Fruiting Body Resupinate, smooth to lumpy, whitish to yellowish with ochraceous tints, margin usually fibrous Flesh Whitish, firm Smell Indistinct Season All year Distribution Very common Habitat On dead wood, usually from deciduous trees, but also from conifers Microscopic Features Spores narrowly ellipsoidal to suballantoid, smooth, filled with droplets (7-11) x (3-4.5) µm2. Basidia 4 spored, subclavate to suburniform with basal clamp. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae 3 to 4 µm wide, clamped. Two kinds of cystidia present. Septocystidia cylindrical, septate, clamped, often strongly encrusted. Lagenocystidia cylindrical, smooth, thin walled.
