Cup shaped, then saucer shaped, often splitting at the margin, inner surface whitish to greyish, smooth, outer surface scurfy, with microscopic hairs, pale brown, to about 2 cm across

Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, with one or two large drops, and many smaller ones (20-22) x (10-12) µm2. Asci 8 spored, tips not blued with Melzers solution. Paraphyses equal, tips slightly expanded. Hairs septate.
