Kidney shaped, laterally attached to the substrate by a cylindrical stem, upper surface concentrically ridged, shiny, orange, reddish brown or almost black, underside cream, ochraceous with age, 4 to 5 pores per mm, to about 30 cm across

Corky, zoned, whitish when young, darker with age
