Cap Bell shaped, expanding with age, yellow brown, reddish brown or grey brown, translucently lined, centre darker and slightly depressed, to about 3 cm across Gills Adnate to free, broad, whitish then pink Stem Equal or slightly tapered, brown, base sometimes with a white pruina Smell Pleasant, aromatic, variously described as ripe pears, ripe apples, or bubble gum. Unpleasant when the flesh is crushed. Taste Unpleasant Season Autumn Distribution Infrequent Habitat With deciduous trees, often on nitrogen rich soil Spore Print Pink Microscopic Features Spores angular, 5 to 6 sides (8-11.5) x (6.5-8) µm2.
