Convex, smooth, sometimes ridged, deep blue, to about 8 cm across
Adnate-emarginate, crowded, whitish then salmon pink
Equal, longitudinally lined, concolorous with the cap though sometimes white at the base
Mealy or radish
Unimproved grassland and meadows
Spores angular, with 5 or 6 sides (7.5-9) x (6.5-8) µm2
This beautiful fungus could be confused with the less robust E. nitidum
