Synonymns Cordyceps longisegmentis Cap Sub-spherical, dark reddish brown, to about 1 cm across Stem Cylindrical, equal, yellowish, to about 10 cm high Flesh Yellowish Smell Indistinct Taste Unknown Season Autumn Distribution Rarely recorded, and easily confused with Cordyceps canadensis Habitat Seeming to grow on soil, but attached to buried fungi in the Elaphomyces genus Spore Print White Microscopic Features The spindle shaped spores form strings, which break into individual spores measuring (23-45) x (4-5) µm2. Edibility Unknown Notes The specimens shown produced spores measuring (36-42) µm x 4 µm
