Cap Shell shaped, laterally and narrowly attached to the substrate, sparsely to densely covered with dark brown hairs on an orange background, to about 2 cm across Gills Eccentric, somewhat distant, pale orange Stem Rudimentary, concolorous with the gills, or slightly deeper orange Flesh Firm, orange, slowly red when exposed to KOH solution Smell Indistinct Taste Unknown Season Autumn Distribution Very rare. The photo shows the first confirmed British collection. Habitat On rotten deciduous wood Spore Print Cinnamon Microscopic Features Spores globose, very finely spiny (5.5-7) µm across. Basidia club shaped, 4 spored. Gill edge cystidia finger shaped. Cuticle hairs about 10 µm wide, with clamp connections at the septa.
