Convex with a narrow central bump, expanding with age, fibrous, yellow, orange or red, to about 5 cm across

Broad, fairly distant, yellow, then reddish brown

Equal, yellow, or orange with a yellow background, or red with a yellow background, pale at the apex, becoming more brown with age

This beautiful fungus is easily recognised by the distinctive colours and the habitat. The different colour forms can grow side by side.
