Conical to ovoid, radially grooved, expanding with age, orange brown, hygrophanous, drying buff, to about 25 mm across

Broad, +/- close, pale, then dark brown, finally black, edge grey, glistening with small mica like grains

Microscopic Features

Spores mitre shaped, germ pore, smooth (7.5-11.5) x (5.5-8) µm2. Basidia club shaped, four spored. Pileipellis consisting of globose cells with occasional slender tapered finger shaped cells.
