Common Name St. George's Mushroom Cap Convex, expanding with age, smooth, white or cream, sometimes with pale ochraceous patches, to about 12 cm across Gills Narrow, crowded, white Stem Cylindrical to club shaped, white Flesh White, firm Smell Mealy Taste Mealy Season Spring. Appears soon after St. George's Day, 23rd April. Distribution Common Habitat On soil, with grass, at the edge of woods, and on roadside verges.
