Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, with two drops (14-22) x (7-11) µm2. Asci 8 spored. Paraphyses cylindrical, tips swollen, septate. Hairs to about 10 µm wide, and often over 100 µm long.

The specimens shown were identified using Microfungi on Miscellaneous Substrates by Ellis and Ellis. This species cannot be recognised without microscopy.
